I am a woman, an artist, a wife, a mother, a former public school educator now dedicated to teaching my own children. Art has always been a part of who I am, though my ventures into the art of ballet peaked at the age of 5. Piano and flute lessons fared a little better, but I still couldn't play "Chopsticks" if I had to. Thankfully my talents in other areas were more consistent, and I earned a Masters degree in painting and drawing, though by the time I reached my thesis show I had discovered my true love of photography and film. I learned photography the %u201Cold-fashioned way,%u201D in a darkroom, and while I%u2019ve graduated to faster technology (did I mention I have twin 6-yr-olds?), I have never lost the art of pausing to see the beauty in everything around me.
I truly believe that preserving the memory of your family as you are right now (not after you finish that project or your hair grows out or you've lost weight) is one of the greatest gifts you can give your children. Today is truly a gift, and I feel privileged to have the opportunity to capture those moments for my clients.
